Today was a great day of wine tasting at Napa. The drive there from Sactown is a nice, peaceful drive, and on the way I spotted a pumpkin patch. So of course, on the way back, we had to stop and get our own pumpkin so we can carve it for Monday! (a first for me, although I've been in the States for Halloween for 4 years now...)

Del Dotto's, known for it's red wine, was beautiful. An underground place filled with barrels of '09 wine, with hosts who are extremely generous with their sizes to taste wine. (We "tasted" half a glass of about 9 different wine basically.) That's why I look a little off :)

Bugun Napa'ya sarap denemeye gittik. Sacramento'dan oraya olan yol o kadar sakin ve sessiz ki, aradaki balkabagi arazisini gormemek soz konusu degildi. Tabi ki donus yolunda durup biz de pazartesiye oymak icin bir tane bal kabagi aldik. Amerika'da bu sene Halloween icin 4. senem olmasina ragmen ilk kez bal kabagi oyuyor olacagim.

Sarap denemeye gittigimiz yer, Del Dotto's, kirmizi saraplari icin meshur olan bir yer. Yer altinda, genis porsyonlarda yaklasik 9 cesit sarap denettirdiler bize, sahaneydi!

After the shock of reading the news in Turkey about the earthquake there wasn't too much to celebrate for brunch, but I kept my promise. When where you live is so far away from your hometown, I don't expect anyone to understand the importance of the things that are happening back home. But I wish health to everyone who suffered through the earthquake.
